What is Ainan Sea Bream?
Ainan-cho, located at the southernmost tip of Ehime Prefecture.
This region is fully blessed by nature. It borders Tsushima-cho in Uwajima City to the north and Kouchi Prefecture's Sukumo City to the east. It also overlooks the Pacific Ocean and its dancing Japan Current to the south, and faces the Bungo Channel to the west.
Within this environment, the sea bream are cultivated through their exposure to the tides, developing firm meat with the perfect about of fat. Appearance, flavor, and texture that could be right from nature! The meat is a bright and beatiful pink, and has a palatable freshness. The flavor is characterized by a lack of aftertaste and a refined sweetness.
Safe and secure!
To the last stop!
Ainan Fisheries Cooperative, Ainan-cho, and Ehime University are collaborating in a single major initiative to support the safe and secure cultivation of sea bream at Japan's largest producing region.
The optimal aquaculture environment! To the last spot!
The fishing location in Ainan-cho is the first place where the Japan current flows from the Pacific Ocean to the Uwa Sea. This flowing in provides natural purification and provision of oxygen, creating and maintaining Japan's most clear and beautiful seas.
Sustainability!
To the last moment!
The products we ship have been awarded with the Fisheries Eco Label, which is given for sustainable fishing and aquaculture that takes resource levels, the environment, and the ecosystem into consideration. In addition, we make use of a traceable system that records not only the location of production but also the manufacturing location and feed history.
